This month, Adelaide’s visitor economy continues to show resilience and momentum. Coming off the back of an incredibly successful March and the vibrant energy of AFL Gather Round, our city has once again proven its strength as a premier event destination.
However, we are mindful of the shifting landscape. While we haven't yet seen the full impact of current geo-political conditions on our local industry, we are staying closely informed. I have spoken with many of you recently to hear how your businesses are being affected, and this week I represented Adelaide at the inaugural Visitor Economy Fuel Impact Advisory Group (VEFIAG) meeting, convened by our new Minister for Tourism, Emily Bourke MLC, and the SATC.
As we enter this uncertain period, we strongly encourage you to participate in industry programs that maximise your visibility, such as AEDA’s Exclusive Offer Program and SATC’s Winter Campaign (details below). It is also vital to ensure your ATDW listing is valid and up to date, as this remains the primary source for our digital platforms.
For those attending ATE 2026, Alistair and I look forward to representing you and talking "all things Adelaide" with global buyers very soon.
Our team remains dedicated to connecting you with opportunities and keeping you supported. We are here to help, so please feel free to reach out to me or the team if you would like to catch up.

Feeling the Pump? Supporting Fuel-Conscious Travel
In response to current geo-political conditions, SATC has pivoted its messaging to focus on fuel-conscious travel. Through a strategic partnership with the RAA, the myRAA app provides real-time data to help visitors plan cost-effectively, ensuring South Australia remains an accessible and attractive destination during these uncertain economic times.
We recently joined Business Events Adelaide at Destination SA to strengthen our strategic support for the city’s visitor economy. From providing pre-event assets to expanding our Exclusive Offers program, discover how AEDA is working to immerse delegates in the city and drive direct spend to your business.
